The Management of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) was informed in the morning of Sunday December 1, 2019 of a fire outbreak at its offices located near the Kwame Nkrumah interchange
The affected building houses the Large Taxpayer Office, the Adabraka Medium Taxpayer Office, and some staff from GRA Head Office.
The fire, which caused extensive damage, was brought under control by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), supported by Ghana Police, Ghana Armed Forces, National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the National Ambulance Service, and the Red Cross. No loss of life, cash or cheques was recorded.
The relevant authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.
GRA wishes to assure the general public that its systems backup ensures the recovery of files and business continuity. As such, GRA’s core operations will not be unduly affected.
Meanwhile, the following arrangements have been put in place with effect from Monday, December 2, 2019:
- All LTO taxpayers should transact their tax business at the Kinbu Sub LTO located at the GRA Head Office (Ministries).
- Adabraka Medium Taxpayers should transact their tax business at the Adabraka Small Taxpayer Office located near the Adabraka Police Station.
