COMMENCEMENT OF THE 2ND PHASE OF IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ELECTRONIC TRANSFER LEVY ( E-LEVY)

COMMENCEMENT OF THE 2ND PHASE OF IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ELECTRONIC TRANSFER LEVY ( E-LEVY)

The Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) wishes to inform the General Public that effective 1st July, 2022, the implementation of the 2nd phase of the Electronic Transfer Levy commences.

Under this phase, all Charging Entities will connect to the Electronic Levy Management System (ELMAS) through an Application Programming Interface (API) developed by the Authority. This will ensure that there is visibility of all transfers on the ELMAS.

Taxpayers and the General Public are to note that during this phase of implementation all wrongful charges of the E-levy will cease because of the visibility of all transactions by Charging Entities. In the same vein, there will be enforcement of the application of the Levy on taxable transfers, such as the daily transfer of amounts above the daily free GH₵ 100 per person.

All taxpayers and the General Public are to take note of these charges.

We encourage persons who have complaints of wrongful charges of E-Levy to report to the relevant Charging Entities for redress.

GRA can be contacted on the following Toll-Free number on 0800-900-110, via email on elevyinfo@gra.gov.gh, info@gra.gov.gh, feedback@gra.gov.gh.
