Scam Alert
The attention of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has been drawn to the activities of fraudulent persons posing as GRA staff who request taxpayers to pay their taxes into private mobile money accounts.
GRA wishes to state categorically that, per its policy of going ‘Cashless’, tax payment can be made via mobile money ONLY using *222# and/or via online through the Ghana.gov.gh platform.
The following payment options can also be done on the Ghana.gov platform:
Taxpayers can also generate an invoice and walk into the nearest bank to pay tax by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
We caution our cherished taxpayers to disregard any request to pay taxes through any of the options not stated above, and not to pay taxes to private mobile money accounts. GRA has also not authorized any third parties apart from the twenty-three (23) designated banks to collect tax on its behalf.
All taxpayers are to take note of this notice to avoid falling prey to scammers.
